Lavelle Academy
A pre-school in Thao Dien built on play-based discovery children making sense of the world by handling it. An identity for that can’t be a fixed logo sitting in a corner; it has to be something a four-year-old can encounter physically.
The source is the neighbourhood itself. Thao Dien’s villas are known for their ornamental gates repeating geometric grilles, endlessly varied within a shared logic. That structure became a flexible logo system: a set of related forms that recombine, so a suite of Lavelle businesses can each have their own mark while visibly belonging to the same family.
The system’s real test was leaving the page. It runs through the architecture and into the children’s toys the same geometry as a screen, a climbing frame, a wooden block. Which turns the identity into something the children physically play with rather than something printed on their bag.
